Now What?

Text: Psalm 105:4

Seek the LORD, and his strength: Seek his face evermore.‭

I wrote this short devotional below for our church this Sunday following our Revival Meetings. You may not be coming off of Revival Meetings, but how are you doing spiritually?

Today, our services are back to “normal.”

We will sing a hymn, open in prayer, sing another hymn, have some announcements, sing another hymn, take the offering, special music, and hear our pastor preach.

The Revival “meetings” are over, but is revival over?

Charles Finney said, “Revival is nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God.”

What will come from our meetings this last week? Will we be the same people in six weeks? What is the next step for your life, family, and our church?

You are here today; that’s a great start, but are we willing to step out of our comfort zones and change our routines to put in place biblical habits that encourage growth?

Resistance is coming.

Satan hates revival and growth in the life of a Christian. Also, life isn’t getting any easier. Stressful situations continue, and every decision we have made for Christ will be tested.

So, what will it be?

Will you take the next step in your life that God is calling you to? Will you set up biblical habits that develop your relationship with God, or will you settle back into life as you have come to know it?

Reflection Questions

  1. What area of your life needs to improve?
  2. What steps could be taken to improve that area?
  3. What resistance do you anticipate?
