A New Type of Creating

Hey friends,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve sent an email. I wrote about a “New Normal” in my life (my daughter is leaving for college), but I don’t think I sent it to you via this email.

Today, I wanted to tell you about something the boys and I have started and another area where I'm writing.

I've mentioned in previous emails about starting a Substack page. It's another platform for writing. At first, I considered replacing this website for that, but I decided against it. So, it sat there in limbo...until now.

I've decided to revive it.

Or, at least try.

This summer, like last summer, the boys and I have spent a lot of time fishing. I was given a GoPro last Christmas, sowe decided to create a YouTube channel called "The Creek Brothers."

The boys are loving it and if I'm honest, I am too. Every trip out is a new adventure that leaves us laughing and telling stories to everyone we come back to.

That brings me back to Substack. I've decided (maybe foolishly) to use Substack to write about some of the stories we bring back from fishing.

I have NO idea how this is going to go, and I don't know of any other Substacks writing about fishing in this way, but it's something I want to try.

I enjoy writing but I don't ever write. This gives me a starting point to write from.

Here's the first post. As you will see this isn't a place where I write about "How to fish." This is about telling stories of a dad and boys fishing and making memories.
